How do I set up DNSSEC?
Updated: 2025/08/06Viewed times: 42139
To configure DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions) for your domain, you must first assign third-party name servers to your domain. Once this is done, please follow the steps below:
- Sign in to your Dynadot account.
- After setting your name servers, navigate to My Domains > Manage Domains from the menu on the left-hand side.
- In the domain list, click on the domain name (which should be a blue link) you wish to configure. This will open the domain settings page.
- Scroll down to the DNSSEC section. If no records are set, it will display Not Set. Click the Change button.
- You will be directed to the Domain DNSSEC settings page.
- If this is your first time configuring DNSSEC in your Dynadot account, you can add a new DNSSEC record directly on this page.
- If you already have existing DNSSEC records saved for other domains, you may choose to reuse them.
- To add a new DNSSEC record:
- Select the top section, Set a DNSSEC Record.
- Enter the required DNSSEC values in the provided fields.
- To re-use an existing DNSSEC record:
- Select the bottom section, Use Existing DNSSEC Records.
- Choose a record from the drop-down menu (you may select up to 3 different records).
- To add a new DNSSEC record:
- Once complete, click Set DNSSEC Records to save your changes.
NOTE: Dynadot's name servers for services such as domain forwarding, parking, custom DNS, and Email are NOT configured for DNSSEC.
